Today I want to tell you how to update the software of the MTS Connect Manager modem. Not because I can do it better than in the provider's support service, but because not all of the instructions sent in SMS went according to plan.
Recently, the speed of the Internet connection was completely useless, moreover, it started suddenly: in the evening everything was fine, in the morning it connected - not a single page was loaded on the first attempt. Along the way, I reinstalled the Connect Manager program several times, changing ports at the same time - to no avail. Even tried to restore the OS. The error had to be looked for on the computer if the provider is sure that everything is in order with him.
A trip to the office also did not give anything, except for replacing the SIM card, which I asked for myself. But the office worker told me that I could ask the same phone number listed above to update the modem software. I thought I'd call, they'll update everything from there. Received instructions via SMS and verbally. It seemed to me that all of it was clearly fixed in my memory, in fact it turned out - no. Or some moment in it was not. Now, in order, about what needs to be done in order for the modem software to be updated.
- Turn off the Internet and disconnect the modem.
- Uninstall the Connect Manager program through the control panel → programs and components → Connect Manager → uninstall.
- To restart a computer!
- Connect the modem and install the program again.
- Disable antivirus!
- Connect to the Internet for about 15 minutes.
- After 15 minutes, connect the antivirus and use the browser.
