Attention: it is necessary to open the case carefully, without using excessive force.

Teardown S9+

We divide the smartphone into two parts.

Remove the fingerprint sensor. Adhesive edge keeps it on the lid. We use liquid to separate it.

The fingerprint sensor cable is also glued. Therefore, when you open the lid, there is a risk of damaging it.

After you unscrew fifteen screws, the familiar two-piece plate in the middle of the case pops up with a built-in wireless charging coil, antenna assembly, and bottom speaker on board.

We dismantle the battery

What does it take to remove a glued battery from a Galaxy phone?

  • heat up a little
  • syringe with a small amount of liquid to remove the adhesive

We take and add some liquid to a small depression in which the battery is held. After a few minutes, the battery will separate.

Removing the motherboard

We unscrew the two screws and disconnect the pair of FPCM connectors that secure the motherboard.

The display cable is passed through a slot in the case and snapped onto the motherboard. Be careful.

Carefully remove the S9+ board from the phone case.

We remove peripherals

The dual camera is a single device on a single PCB with a single connector and is easily detachable.

The total number of cameras on the S9+ is now four - in addition to the (recently removed) dual main camera, we have a selfie camera and aperture cameras.

We disassemble the components of the back cover

The headphone jack is equipped with a sealing gasket to protect the phone from moisture. And the modularity makes it easy to remove if replacement is needed.

Hook and pull off the multi-purpose daughterboard assembly with coaxial patch cables, microphone, USB-C connector, and spring contacts.

Motherboard Components: Side A

Side A contains:

  • Samsung K3UH6H6-NGCJ LPDDR4X 6 GB DRAM chip overlaid on top of Qualcomm Snapdragon 845

Hello dear readers. Today, together with you, we will learn how to disassemble the Samsung Galaxy S6 on our own, without the help of a specialist. Since this model of a Korean smartphone does not have a rear removable cover, at first glance it may seem that it is not so easy to disassemble it. However, with us you can do everything!

It is important to understand that the initiative to disassemble the Samsung S6 deprives you of warranty service. Therefore, before disassembling it, weigh the pros and cons.

So, get ready for the fact that when you remove the back panel, you will see a copious amount of glue around its edges, this is one of the hallmarks of Korean manufacturers. By the way, since disassembling a Samsung Galaxy S6 is no different from disassembling a regular Galaxy S6, we will demonstrate the entire process on it.

Most often, the Samsung S6 needs to be disassembled to change the battery, due to its problematic availability. To do this, you need to use plastic tools so as not to damage the insides of the Galaxy S6, a common example is an ordinary plastic card.

Experienced craftsmen have in their arsenal different chips for dismantling smarts, we recommend prying off the back cover with the same credit card. It will be easier for you to give in to the cover if you preheat the phone with a stream of warm air from its side, so the glue will melt a little.

First step

This very white film around the edges is the glue, as they said, there is plenty of it here.

Second step

Smoothly, without sudden movements, remove the back panel.

Third step

The S6 Edge's screen and metal body sit well on small screws that need to be removed with a small Phillips screwdriver. Then, when there are no screws left that hold the screen, it can be removed from the case.

Fourth step

As we can see, the motherboard is not attached to the body of the Galaxy S6, but to its screen. Therefore, we remove it only after disconnecting the antenna wires.

Fifth step

It is now possible to remove the Galaxy S6 battery when the l-shaped board has already been removed, and we have free access to the battery.

sixth step

Now we can remove the fingerprint scanner.

seventh step

Now you can remove the glass from the smart screen, but before that it is also desirable to warm it up with a hairdryer.

To the delight of many Samsung fans, the new flagship Galaxy S6 received a completely monolithic body without a removable cover. This made it possible to make the design even more reliable, eliminate any backlash, and the design only won. However, this solution also has a significant drawback in the form of a lack of access to the battery. However, as it turned out, if necessary, it is still possible to replace the battery.

One of the users of the popular developer forum XDA Developers I found that in the manual for the Galaxy S6, the manufacturer superficially described the process of disassembling the case and removing the battery. True, this is far from being as easy to do as in the case of previous models of the line. This will require:

  • remove the SIM card tray from the device;

  • remove the back panel;

  • loosen and remove the screws around the perimeter of the device;

  • remove the fee;

  • disconnect the battery connector;

  • remove the battery.

You can learn more about the manual using the Galaxy S6 manual (page 138) on the official Samsung website. The manufacturer himself strongly recommends not to engage in such operations on your own, the sequence of actions is described exclusively for authorized service centers, which should carry out the replacement of batteries and other hardware modules.

We subscribe to this warning, because the process is really quite difficult, one wrong step can void the warranty. In any case, all actions are performed solely at your own peril and risk.
